Inverters and combi units: 230 volts, wherever you are

Socket comfort without a hook-up – with pure sine wave inverters and automatic mains priority switching.

Inverters & combi units

An inverter turns 12 V battery power into clean 230 V AC – for your coffee machine, laptop charger, e-bike charger or hairdryer. We install pure sine wave inverters only: they are the only type that powers sensitive electronics reliably.

  • Pure sine wave – safe for sensitive electronics
  • Mains priority switching: sockets simply always work
  • Brand quality by Victron and Votronic
  • Properly fused and wired to standard

Inverters & combi units – GNS Reisemobiltechnik

Mains priority switching – always the right source, automatically

With mains priority switching, your on-board grid switches to shore power automatically the moment you plug in – and back to the battery when you don't. Nothing to re-plug, nothing to think about.

Combi units – inverter and charger in one

A combi unit (such as the Victron MultiPlus) combines a pure sine wave inverter, a powerful battery charger and mains priority switching in a single housing. That saves space, wiring and potential points of failure – the most elegant foundation for a well-designed energy system, especially with lithium batteries.

Correct sizing makes the difference

Sized too small, the inverter shuts down the moment the coffee machine starts; too large, and it wastes precious energy on standby. We calculate the continuous and peak loads of your appliances and select the unit that truly fits.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What size inverter does a motorhome need?

For a laptop and small devices, 300–500 W is often enough; a coffee machine or hairdryer demands 1,600–2,000 W, better 2,500–3,000 W with reserves. Your actual appliances decide.

What is the difference between pure and modified sine wave?

Only a pure sine wave inverter produces power like a household socket. Modified sine units can damage sensitive electronics – which is why we don't install them.

Is a combi unit better than separate devices?

If you're planning both an inverter and a charger anyway: yes. Less wiring, integrated mains priority switching and a perfectly matched system all favour the combi solution.
